Plein Air Painters of Idaho Art Paint Out and Sale at Redfish Lake

The Plein Air Painters of Idaho will hold their annual Art Paint Out and Sale. Artists will arrive on September 2, 2014 and will begin in earnest on September 3, 2014. The event will continue through the September 4, 2014, with painting on display all three days and demonstrations every day. Jed Steele will be bringing his Steele wines to Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch to pair with guests’ dinner selections on September 5, 6, 7, 2014.

Friday, September 5, 2014 – Jed will choose one of his favorite wine topics to speak about during appetizers, with a complimentary tasting of matched Steele wines.

Saturday, September 6, 2014 – Jed will preside over a tasting of four Steele wines he has chosen to compliment the evening’s western BBQ menu. Fee for participation in the tastings.

Sunday, September 7, 2014 – Five Steele wines, presented by Mr. Steele, will be paired to the coursed dinner in the Lodge dining room. Fee for participation in the tastings.

The Sawtooth Mountain Mamas are celebrating Idaho’s Western heritage with the third annual weekend of the Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering.  Poets include , Layle Bagley, J. B. Barber, Ellie Corrigan, Bobbie Hunter, and Ken Wellard. Musicians/singers are Jim Aassen, Dave Fulfs, Sam Mattise, The Fall River Boys, The Romriells, Prairie Wind, and Wayne Hughes.
A new addition to this weekend of events is the 
Cowboy Fast Draw.  Curley Calhoune will host a competition with his club, the Sawtooth Shootist Society on September 6thand 7th.  He will also host a free of charge Town Folk Alley, where the general public will have a chance to try Cowboy Fast Draw, conducted in a safe manner, according to Cowboy Fast Draw Association rules and regulations.  Everyone is encouraged to dress in their western attire. 
The Cowboy Poetry and Music event schedule is as follows: Friday, Sept. 5th, 1:00pm River 1 Back Porch; 3:00pm Mountain Village Outside Deck; 6:00pm Lawn area Wall Street and Ace of Diamonds; Saturday, Sept. 6th 1:00pm Redfish Lake Lodge; 3:00pm Stanley Town Square; Quilt Raffle at 6:00pm on Lawn Area at Wall Street and Ace of Diamonds. The Cowboy Fast Draw event schedule is as follows: Saturday, Sept. 6th, 10:00am-3:00pm Fast Draw Competition & Town Folk Alley on Lawn area at Wall Street and Ace of Diamonds; Sunday, Sept. 7th 10:00am-4:00pm on Lawn area at Wall Street and Ace of Diamonds.

Refish Lake Lodge will host Stanley’s Annual Firemen’s Ball, the organization’s largest yearly fundraiser.  This event provides a wonderful opportunity for friends, family and anyone who enjoys the Sawtooth Mountain splendor, to reward the hardworking men and women who keep us protected.  Admission is $10.00 per person, with souvenir t-shirt offered for additional donation.  A silent auction will be located in the event tent next to the Gazebo.  Live music by Buckskin Bible Revue begins at 9:00pm in the Lodge.  Food and drink options will be offered at the Gazebo and Lodge Bar.  A free shuttle between Stanley and Redfish Lake Lodge will be available until 1:00am.  All proceeds support the Stanley Ambulance and Sawtooth Valley Rural Fire District.
