2015 SAWTOOTH RELAY

DATE: June 13, 2015

TIME: Athletes typically start between midnight and 9:00am, finish between 12:00noon and 5:00pm

LOCATION:  Stanley Elementary School, Stanley, Idaho

Sawtooth Relay is a non-profit corporation, benefiting two charities, the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation and the Idaho Donor Network.  Teams can travel to Stanley the night before the relay and camp out under the stars or stay in one of the many lodging facilities in the area. Teams of 6, using one van, will complete 12 legs, beginning at Stanley Elementary School and finishing in Atkinson Park, Ketchum.  The 62-mile course is open to running and walking teams and ultra-marathoners. Athletes typically start between midnight and 9 am.  Athletes finish times are estimated to be between noon and 5 pm.

8th ANNUAL A.J. SILVA CUP KITE FESTIVAL – COME FLY A KITE

DATE: June 21, 2015

TIME: 11:00am

LOCATION: Stanley Pioneer Park, Stanley, Idaho

“Where old traditions are new again!”.  Locals and visitors, young and old, store-bought or handmade – this kite-flying contest is hands-down the best gift you can give on Father’s Day. So, bring the whole family and your kites for a blue sky, white cloud day of fun for everyone. Prizes, hamburgers, hot dogs, and assorted beverages. Potluck donations of food and/or sponsor $$ are appreciated for this event.

SIXTH ANNUAL THROWDOWN IN DOGTOWN

DATE: July 4, 2015

LOCATION: Mountain Village Resort "Lawn"

The Sixth Annual Throwdown in Dogtown will take place on the Mountain Village Resort “Lawn” on Saturday, July 4, with gates opening at 5:30pm and show beginning at 6:30pm until fireworks. The show features Chris Knight with the Full Band, Dirty River Boys, Shane Smith & The Saints, Old Death Whisper and The Barking Owls. All ages are welcome. STANLEY FOUTH OF JULY CELEBRATION

DATE: July 4, 2015

TIME: Parade Gathering 5:00pm, Parade 5:30pm, 6:00pm Street Dance, Fireworks at Dark

LOCATION: Various locations around Stanley

The Stanley Fourth of July Celebration will take place on Saturday, July 4, and begins with the gathering of participants at 5:00pm at the lot behind the clinic (we recommend you decorate before the gathering). The entrance to the lot is on Hwy 21. The parade will begin at 5:30pm, followed by a free Street Dance on Ace of Diamonds at 6:00pm, with live music by Free Peoples. Stanley’s annual fireworks display will begin at dark at Pioneer Park. “Throw down your blanket at Pioneer Park and do not forget your camera.”

MOUNTAIN MAMA’S ARTS AND CRAFTS FAIR

DATE: July 18 - 19, 2015

LOCATION: Highway 21, grassy area just west of Mountain Village Mercantile

The Mountain Mama’s 39th Annual Arts & Crafts Fair is scheduled to bring over 130 artists and craftsmen from throughout the Northwest to Stanley, Idaho.  The Fair provides a rare opportunity to purchase art and craft directly from the artist.  Come join in a day of fun in the sun, with a great selection of food and country music.

PLEIN AIR PAINTERS OF IDAHO PAINT-OUT AT REDFISH LAKE LODGE

Plein Air Painters of Idaho (PAPI) is a group of artists dedicated to the advancement of on-location painting in Idaho.  You are welcome to observe these artists from all over Idaho in their creative interpretation of the beautiful Sawtooth Mountains, Redfish Lake, and the surrounding wilderness.  There will be free demos every day, culminating with a sale and reception, including hors d’oeuvres, at 5:30 pm on Thursday, September 10th

S.V.R.F.D. FIREMAN’S BALL

DATE: September 19, 2015

LOCATION: Redfish Lake Lodge

The S.V.R.F.D. and Stanley Ambulance are pleased to invite everyone looking at this to their annual Fireman’s Ball.  You can get the shuttle (runs continuously) starting at 7:00pm at the Mountain Village and on Ace of Diamonds.  A silent auction will take place during the evening to benefit the Sawtooth Valley men and women fire and ambulance volunteers.  Donations to the silent auction are welcome and very much appreciated.
