Sawtooth Salmon Festival

LOCATION: Highway 75, Stanley

The Sawtooth Salmon Festival, an annual tradition, kicks off at 5:00pm on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Stanley Museum on Highway 75 in Stanley, with a presentation by Outdoor Idaho and Idaho Public Television’s host Bruce Reichert.
The festival continues Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 10:00am at the Stanley Museum, with shuttle tours occurring throughout the day to view wild salmon spawning; educational booths manned by many sponsoring organizations; salmon experts on hand to answer your questions. There will be food and drink on site, with Papa Brunee’s producing pizza by the slice and Idaho Rivers United offering beverages all day.
The festival’s famous Salmon Dinner will feature wild Alaskan salmon and accompanying side dishes from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, catered by local owner and chef, Doug Plass, of the highly regarded Redd restaurant. Dinner music will be provided by Scott Knickerbocker. Dinner tickets are $30.00 for SIHA or IRU members, $40.00 for non-members/general public.

Stanley-Sawtooth Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering

DATE: September 2 - 3, 2016

TIME: 1:00pm

LOCATION: Downtown Stanley

The Sawtooth Mountain Mamas would like to invite you to celebrate the traditions of the American West and the working cowboys through poetry, tales, and music. The Stanley-Sawtooth Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering will take place in downtown Stanley, at the base of the Sawtooth Mountains on Friday, September 2nd, 1:00pm to 6:00pm and on Saturday, September 3rd, 1:00pm to 6:00pm. All events are free – donations are requested. An event schedule will follow at a later date.

Plein Air Painters of Idaho Paint-Out at Redfish Lake Lodge

DATE: September 6 - 8, 2016

LOCATION: Redfish Lake Lodge

Plein Air Painters of Idaho (PAPI) is a group of artists dedicated to the advancement of on-location painting in Idaho. There will be over 20 artists from all over Idaho participating in the 2016 Paint Out. Painting demonstrations will take place every day close to the Lodge. A reception with appetizers, wine, music, a showing of the finished paintings, and a judging for the Peoples Choice Award will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016, beginning at 5:00pm,

S.V.R.F.D. Fireman’s Ball

DATE: September 24, 2016

LOCATION: Redfish Lake Lodge

The S.V.R.F.D. and Stanley Ambulance will put on their annual Fireman’s Ball at Redfish Lake Lodge on September 24, 2016. Come dance the night away and bring your checkbook for the silent auction to benefit the Sawtooth Valley men and women fire and ambulance volunteers. A shuttle to and from the event will run continuously throughout the evening, starting at 7:00pm in the Mountain Village parking lot and on Ace of Diamonds. Silent auction donations are welcome and very much appreciated – please call Amanda Matthews for more information.
