Redfish Lake Lodge Memorial Run

LOCATION: Redfish Lake

Redfish Lake Lodge will host the 6th annual Redfish Lake Lodge Memorial Run, featuring a half marathon, 10k and 5k on Saturday, May 28 2016. All races will begin and end at the Lodge.

The Half Marathon and 10K course will be on paved, gravel, and trail surfaces
Kid’s race will begin at 9:30 AM – 1 Mile Run ages 3 – 10
Bluefish event will take place at the same time at high Noon
Many other fun improvements with prizes, category winners, and much more.
Half marathon begins at 10:00am at the Lodge; 10k begins at 10:30am; 5k begins at 10:45am

Participants can register at Registration fees increase by $10.00 for the Half Marathon and $5.00 for the 10K and 5K beginning Wednesday, May 11, 2016. To be guaranteed a t-shirt, participants must register no later than Wednesday, May 20. You may register at the site on Friday, May 27th, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lodge.

Redfish Lake Lodge will provide a pre-race meal on Friday, May 27, from 6:00 – 8:00pm at the Lodge. The cost of the meal is $12.00 and may be purchased online on the registration site, or by calling the Lodge on or before May 27 at 208-774-3536. Live music will be provided throughout the evening.

2016 Sawtooth Relay

DATE: June 11, 2016

TIME: Midnight thru 9:00am

LOCATION: Start - Stanley Elementary School

Racing Unlimited is once again hosting the Sawtooth Relay. The race will begin at Stanley Elementary School around midnight on June 11, 2016, with a team entry deadline of March 31th, or when the limit of 320 teams is reached. The Sawtooth Relay is a 62-mile relay for runners and walkers from Stanley to Atkinson Park in Ketchum. Athletes typically start between midnight and 9:00am in Stanley, running through the night for an estimated 61.9 miles total. 4 to 6 athletes are required before a team entry will be processed.

Racing Unlimited, Inc. is a non-profit corporation, funding pilot research projects at the Kidney Institute at the University of Kansas Medical Center to find treatments and a cure for polycystic kidney disease, a disease affecting an estimated 12.5 million people worldwide. 9th Annual A.J. Silva Cup Kit Festival – Come Fly A Kite

DATE: June 19, 2016

LOCATION: Stanley Pioneer Park, Stanley, Idaho

“Where old traditions are new again!” Locals and visitors, both young and old, kites store-bought or handmade, make this kite-flying contest the best gift you can give Dad on Father’s Day. Bring the whole family and your kites for a blue sky, white cloud day of fun for everyone. Prizes, hamburgers, hot dogs, and assorted beverages available. Stanley Fourth of July Celebration

DATE: July 4, 2016

TIME: Parade Gathering 5:00pm, Parade 5:30pm, Street Dance 6:00pm, Fireworks at dark

LOCATION: Various locations around Stanley

The Stanley Fourth of July Celebration will take place on Monday, July 4th. The gathering of parade participants will take place at 5:00pm (location to be confirmed shortly). Decorating before the gathering is recommended. The parade will begin at 5:30pm, followed by a free Street Dance, with live music, on Ace of Diamonds at 6:00pm. The annual fireworks display will begin at dark at Stanley’s Pioneer Park. For a great evening and an enjoyable end to a special day, bring your blankets, your kids, a picnic and your camera.

40th Annual Arts & Crafts Fair

Come celebrate the 40th Annual Arts and Crafts Fair, sponsored by the Mountain Mamas. This Fair brings in over 100 artists and craftsmen from throughout the Northwest to Stanley, providing a rare opportunity to purchase art and craft directly from the artist.  Join in a day of fun in the sun, with a great selection of food and country music.

Stanley-Sawtooth Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering

DATE: September 2 - 3, 2016

LOCATION: Downtown Stanley

The Sawtooth Mountain Mamas would like to invite you to celebrate the traditions of the American West and the working cowboys through poetry, tales, and music. The Stanley-Sawtooth Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering will take place in downtown Stanley, at the base of the Sawtooth Mountains on Friday, September 2nd, 1:00pm to 6:00pm and on Saturday, September 3rd, 1:00pm to 6:00pm. All events are free – donations are requested. An event schedule will follow at a later date.

S.V.R.F.D. Fireman’s Ball

The S.V.R.F.D. and Stanley Ambulance will put on their annual Fireman’s Ball at Redfish Lake Lodge on September 24, 2016. Come dance the night away and bring your checkbook for the silent auction to benefit the Sawtooth Valley men and women fire and ambulance volunteers. A shuttle to and from the event will run continuously throughout the evening, starting at 7:00pm in the Mountain Village parking lot and on Ace of Diamonds.
