Stanley Fourth of July Celebration

DATE: July 4, 2017

TIME: When you get in town

Stanley may be a small town but it does not skimp on celebrations. On July 4th the town will explode with excitement. Explore fishing, camping, boating, swimming, and all the outdoor fun your heart desires throughout the day. In the evening, about 5:30, watch as a parade trumps through town and a street dance at 6 pm on Ace of Diamonds. At night sit down, relax, and enjoy the firework show. Join the celebration!

Mountain Mamas’ Arts and Crafts Fair

DATE: July 15 - 16, 2017

TIME: Saturday, July 15th 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Sunday, July 16th 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

LOCATION: Highway 21, grassy area just west of Mountain Village Mercantile

July 15th and 16th marks the 41st annual Arts and Crafts Fair which features paintings, wood work, metal work, and so much more from artists and craftsman.  Event hours are 10 am to 6 pm on the 15th and 9 am to 4 pm on the 16th. Many options for food and beverage will be present and will entice your taste buds the entire weekend. Live music will be playing so feel free to grab your boots and dance away.

Sawtooth Valley Gathering

DATE: July 28 - 29, 2017

TIME: July 28th, 1:00 pm - July 29th, 11:59 pm

LOCATION: Pioneer Park, Stanley, ID

20+ bands will be jamming out at the 3rd annual Sawtooth Valley Gathering on July 28th starting 1 pm and ending the 29th at 11:59 pm. The event will take place at Pioneer Park located at the top of the hill in Stanley. Bring your tent, RV, or just some friends and enjoy live music, dancing, and a great atmosphere. Starlight and Darkness: Idaho’s 21st Century Total Solar Eclipse

DATE: August 18, 2017

TIME: 5:00 pm

LOCATION: Stanley Museum, Highway 75 North

Eric Edelman, an Astronomer with Slooh (partners who help bring live telescope feeds of the cosmos to the world) will present a free lecture on August 18, 2017 at 5:00 pm in the Stanley Museum off Highway 75. This lecture is open to the public. Donations are appreciated.

The Slooh is packing up the Space Situation Room and heading to the Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch in Stanley for the August 21st total solar eclipse, and using some of the most advanced equipment available to bring you up-close view of the eclipse live as it happens, with commentary and perspective from the world’s leading experts in solar eclipses.

Star Party

DATE: August 19 - 20, 2017

LOCATION: Pioneer Park

The Boise Astronomical Society will conduct a 2 night free pubic access “Star Party” on Saturday, august 19th and Sunday, August 20th at the Sawtooth Valley Pioneer Park. The BAS wil provide supervised public access night-viewing telescopes. The BAS also will provide at least one free public access solar telescope from noon until sunset on both days, as well as laser guided constellation tour at approximately 10:30 pm on both evenings that is free to the public.

Sawtooth Salmon Festival

DATE: August 25 - 26, 2017

TIME: Friday, August 25th 5:00 pm - Saturday, August 26th 9:00 pm

The salmon are returning and it is time to celebrate. Satooth Salmon Festival Friday, August 25th and Saturday the 26th. Live music, food, and vendors will be awaiting your arrival. Festivities start at 5 pm on the 25th and continue until 9 pm on the 26th in the Stanley Museum. There will also be a guest speaker loaded with great information about the salmon and their migration.

Stanley-Sawtooth Cowboy Gathering

DATE: September 1 - 3, 2017

Are you thirsty for some good old fashioned western fun? Want to know what a day in the life of a cowboy is like? Come join in on the 6th annual Stanley-Sawtooth Cowboy Gathering fun on September 1st through the 3rd. Cowboys will tell share their wild stories and share their poetry about what it is like to be in the wild west. Live music will be playing and dancing is encouraged.
