EXPERIENCE STANLEY, IDAHO & THE SAWTOOTH BASIN

Stories From Stanley, Idaho

      • Established in 1971, White Cloud Rafting Adventures operates with the longest continually running permit on the Salmon River. Committed to the highest safety standards, they require their guides to participate in a training program that meets and exceeds strict state requirements. They are all licensed in white-water rafting and certified in First Aid and CPR. From river gear, river shuttles and personable, knowledgeable river guides, everything you need to get the most from your whitewater adventure will be provided for you and your group. The White Cloud Team is known for its impressive level of service and comfort, combined with western casualness and genuine hospitality. My guide was Davis. This is Davis’ first season on the Salmon, but you wouldn’t know it. He told of local attractions and was knowledgeable about his chosen waterway. He was even able to wow his guests with native folklore and tall tales along the scenic class III run. High-adventure rafting trips and relaxing, scenic floats are available in rafts or inflatable kayaks. Bring the whole gang or come alone and your White Cloud crew will set you up with a group to join in on the fun. From half-day trips complete with swimming holes and hot springs, to full-day adventures including a mouth-watering lunch at White Cloud’s private riverside camp, your trip promises a day of fun and excitement for all ages. For the fisherman and/or fisherwoman, guided drift boat fishing trips are available. The Salmon River is a relatively undiscovered fishery. You will experience world-class fly fishing accompanied with breathtaking views from the hull of a wooden drift boat. Rainbow, brook, and cutthroat trout are all found in abundance on the Salmon River. General Manager for eight years, Jeremy Boswell invites you to share your day with the White Cloud family. Experience for yourself the beauty, exhilaration, and sport that defines the Salmon River as the lifeblood of the Sawtooth Wilderness Area.
