Stanley, Idaho: How to Make the Most of a Small Town 4th of July!
Small town USA. Located at the base of Idaho's Sawtooth Mountain range you can't help but notice a small green sign that reads, "population 63." For what it lacks in population, Stanley more than makes up for with Big Mountains, Family Friendly atmosphere, and an All American 4th of July! In fact, by any other measure Stanley is anything but small! Biggest, Longest, and Darkest come to mind as Stanley is home to the one of the largest wilderness areas, the longest inland migration of Salmon, and is at the heart of the first Dark Sky Reserve in the USA.
So you'll be in good company if you're looking for one of the best ways to celebrate America's birthday this 4th of July! Here's what you need to know:
11am - Campground Parade @ Redfish Lake
2pm - Redfish Lake Lodge Parade
5:30pm - Downtown Stanley Parade
6:00-10:00pm - Street Dance, Live Music, & Food
10:30(Dark) - Fireworks are lit from the Stanley Airport
Live Music continues at the Kasino Club for the evening!
Don't let the name Wall Street fool you, the streets Downtown are oil & gravel. You'll want to get there early to get a good spot. Oh and did we mention that the River companies like to bring the water with them when they aren't Rafting? So mind the splash zone or join on in!
