Firefighter's Ball - Sat, Sept 23

event

You’re invited to the Firefighter’s Ball! It’s time to recognize the volunteers of the Sawtooth Valley Rural Fire Department (SVRFD) and the Stanley Ambulance for their dedication and sacrifice to protect the locals and tourists in emergency situations in and around Stanley.

The Firefighter’s Ball kicks off at 8pm at Redfish Lake Lodge.

Free shuttles will run from 7pm – midnight from Mountain Village and Ace of Diamonds Boulevard to Redfish Lake Lodge.

Silent Auction
The silent auction will be held under the big tent by the lodge from 8pm – 11pm. There are over 200 items donated from businesses in Stanley, Wood River Valley, Twin Falls, Boise and Challis. Bid on artwork from local artists, clothing, hotel stays, chainsaw, gift certificates from local restaurants and businesses, backpacking essentials, rafting trips, plus a whole lot more.

Bid often and bid high!

Food and Beverage
Beer, wine, soda and water will be available for purchase at the gazebo and in the lodge. Fuel your body with burgers, hot dogs and chips from the gazebo if you’re going to be dancing (and drinking!) the night away.

Music
Live music from Jonathan Warren and the Billy Goats will entertain ballgoers until midnight. This bluegrass twist band from Boise will have you showing off all your dance moves.

The SVRFD and Stanley Ambulance are staffed solely by volunteers. There are approximately 20 year round volunteers plus a seasonal crew. Their efforts are vital to this community. The Stanley Ambulance will respond to all calls. But did you know the Sawtooth Valley Rural Fire Department will respond to more than structure fires? They also respond to:

  • Wildland fires (forest and brush fires)
  • Vehicle accidents
  • Swiftwater rescue
  • High angle rescue services

Both of these organizations have their busy seasons from May – September. The ambulance will make about 40 – 50 runs while the fire department will respond to about 20 calls during the summer months.

All proceeds from the Firefighter’s Ball are split 50/50 between the SVRFD and the Stanley Ambulance. These funds are used to replace and improve equipment, update radio communications, provide comprehensive training programs, recruit new volunteers plus much more. Your donation will make a difference in the Sawtooth Valley!

Volunteers from both organizations will staff the silent auction, food and beverage stations so please make sure you thank them all personally. The Firefighter’s Ball is their only fundraiser so let’s show them how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication to the Sawtooth Valley. These volunteers have earned our gratitude and donations!

The Firefighter’s Ball is the perfect excuse to wear your party dress or your favorite pair of Carhartts. It’s Stanley so anything goes! Socialize with all the volunteers, dance until your feet fall off and bid in the silent auction until the very last second.

You never know…..these volunteers may save your life someday.
