McCoy's Fishing Report for May 29, 2016

event

What a wonderful Memorial Weekend we are having! Beautiful blue skies, warm temps, the wildflowers are starting to add color to the meadows AND the caddis hatch has started!

Fishing the Valley Floor lakes:

Stanley Lake is producing Lake Trout as they are up near the surface now. Also some rainbow trout. The stocking program won’t begin for a little bit.

Alturas has rainbow, kokanee and bull trout ( catch and release only on bull trout).

Redfish has bull trout ( catch and release ) and kokanee. Also, there are bull trout in Little Redfish.

The Upper Salmon River and Valley Creek are running clear and still a little high.

So, come stock up on dry flies and let the summer begin! We are looking forward to a very good water year as we still have lots and lots of snow up high in the Sawtooths.
