McCoy's Fishing Report - April 9, 2016

As of April 7, 2016 the Sawtooth Hatchery has 1994 Steelhead. Fishermen have been reporting seeing a lot of fish moving on up the river. We are experiencing beautiful blue sky days here with cold nightime temps ( well below freezing ) and very warm daytime temps ( in the 60’s ). The upper river is running cold and clear above Valley Creek. Valley Creek is putting a little color in the water but when checking in last evening I could still see the bottom. Basin Creek and the Yankee Fork are adding color to the water. Many fishermen have moved upstream but those that are fishing the off color water are reporting success also – they just aren’t sight fishing. Stop in and check out the new steelhead flies, spoons and lures we have in stock.
