McCoy's Tackle Shop Fishing Report

event

The Upper Salmon River is running crystal clear and very fishable. Lot’s of hatchery rainbows have been stocked and native cutthroat are also being caught. Valley Creek has also been stocked as have the Dredge Ponds, the Kid’s Pond at the Sawtooth Hatchery and Bayhorse Lake.

The Chinook Salmon season is going strong. Over 1400 fish have been trapped at the Sawtooth Hatchery. As of last week, chinook were still being counted going over Lower Granite Dam so more are on the way.

The high lakes have thawed out and opened up so fishing has started up high as well. On my hike up high last week I encountered no snow on the trails.
