The Chinook Salmon are in the Upper Salmon River. Over 200 Chinook Salmon have arrived at the Sawtooth Hatchery above Stanley in the last few days. Season is open from the mouth of Valley Creek to approximately 100 yards below the weir at the hatchery. Now is the time to fish for these great fish.

Also, Alturas, Perkins, and Stanley Lakes, the dredge ponds and the kids pond at the hatchery have been stocked with catchable rainbows.

USGS reports the Salmon River water flow below the Yankee Fork ( about 11 miles downriver from Stanley) to be at 2830 cfs. The water levels are steadily dropping to a good fishing flow.
