McCoy's Tackle & Gift Shop Fishing Report - August 13, 2017

event

Chinook Salmon season has wound down and now it’s time to let them spawn and create the next generation. So far this year, over 1700 have come to the Sawtooth Hatchery.

Native Cutthroat are running strong in the upper Salmon River along with stocked Rainbow and Mountain Whitefish.

Stanley, Alturas and Perkins Lakes and also Valley Creek have been stocked with catchable size Rainbow Trout.

For those of you that will be in the area before, during and after the total solar eclipse: please remember that with so many people that are expected in the area, the phone and internet lines may be overloaded. If this happens, please come prepared with a pre-issued fishing license. These are available at 1-800-554-8685 or the Idaho Fish and Game website at  https://idfg.idaho.gov . If the lines are overloaded, we will not be able to issue licenses.

Also, if lines are overloaded, credit card machines might not be functioning properly so having cash available would be a good idea.
