'Tis the Season: searching for that perfect Stanley Christmas tree

event

Going out in search of that perfect Christmas tree is one of my favorite traditions. It's a perfect opportunity to spend time together, whether you're goofing off with friends or taking the kids out for their first time. The quietness of snow seems to invite a more thoughtful experience when walking through the forest. Coming up on the end of the year I find myself thinking about the places I've been and people I've met along the way. Grateful for the opportunities we all share as public land owners.

Reflecting on another year in these woods I'm reminded of that secret morel spot I stumbled upon this Spring then soon after jumping into chilly Alpine lakes, I saw my first wolf up close while taking a nap under a tree elk hunting in the Fall, and soon we will be capping off the year quite literally with a star on top of the Christmas tree. Whether it's coming up for a tree this year or hiking in the Summer, I encourage everyone to make some time to enjoy the Sawtooths. We are truly fortunate to have access to these wild spaces, I hope you cherish them as much as I do.
